A mainstay of the Boys & Girls Club Experience, Youth of the Year is a year-round program that helps young people develop 21st - century leadership skills and character traits now and become productive, caring responsible adults in the future.
Becoming National Youth of the Year is an exciting and inspiring journey. Starting at the local level, Club members are encouraged to participate in the leadership program and a rigorous application process; followed by state and regional events. Six teens, including five Regional Youth of the Year and on Military Youth of the Year, advance to Washington, D.C. for the National Youth of the Year Celebration, where one outstanding young person is named Boys & Girls Clubs of America's National Youth of the Year, serving as a role model, leader and advocate for nearly 4.3 million youth served by Boys & Girls Clubs each year and all of our nation's young people.
The Youth of the Year recognition program is presented by Disney, which has supported Boys & Girls Clubs for more than 50 years, empowering young people to reach their full potential and providing youth with access to the tools they need to build the great futures they image. Toyota, the signature sponsor of Youth of the Year, is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of engineers, thinkers and leaders who help drive the American economy.
